cPanel and WHM Demo Setup Instructions

Below you will find instructions to help you point your domain or subdomain to our servers. For additional information on linking to your subdomain or domain name from your website, please see our Demo Link Instructions. If you need any further assistance please contact us.

Pointing your subdomain - DNS Zone File update

If you want to point a subdomain hosted on another server to our servers, you will need to edit your DNS Zone file for that domain.

  1. Login to your WHM.
  2. Go to DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone.
  3. Click on the domain you want to edit and click on edit.
  4. Add an A entry for your subdomain, example below:

    cpdemo   14400   IN   A   204.11.53.145

  5. Click save.

*NOTE* You need to update 'cpdemo' with your subdomain prefix.

You should now be able to access your demo through your subdomain. Sometimes it can take a few hours after the change to work, but usually it will work right away.

Pointing your primary domain - DNS Zone File update

If you want to point a domain name hosted on another server to our servers, you will need to edit your DNS Zone file for that domain.

  1. Login to your WHM.
  2. Go to DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone.
  3. Click on the domain you want to edit and click on edit.
  4. Update the A entry for your domain, example below:

    yourdomain.com.   14400   IN   A   204.11.53.145

  5. Click save.

*NOTE* You need to update 'yourdomain.com' with your domain name.

You should now be able to access your demo through your domain name. Sometimes it can take a few hours after the change to work, but usually it will work right away.

Pointing your domain - Edit DNS at register

If you want to point your domain directly to our servers, you will need to edit your DNS at your domain register.

  1. Login to your domain register.
  2. Click on the domain you choose for your demo.
  3. Click on Edit DNS servers or Edit Name Servers. You may need to contact your domain register to find out where to make these changes.
  4. Enter the following DNS:

    ns1.cpaneldemos.com
    ns2.cpaneldemos.com

  5. Click update.

This may take up to 24-48 hours to take effect. Once the DNS severs have propagated, you will be able to access your demo through your domain name.
